Jennifer and Alan are engaged!

We had planned this shoot a few weeks prior but due to circumstances beyond our control we had to reschedule a few times. We had planned the location, Asbury Park, NJ - home of the Stone Pony - The Convention Hall & The Paramount Theatre - the time? SUNRISE - and we were very lucky with our day, considering it’s been really foggy in the early morning this season AND we wanted a beach session (period!) - one where we got all wet and steamy! We were pretty lucky in that arena as well, due to our current temperatures (right now it’s in the 60’s outside and I’m loving it, last weekend it was 80’s). Had we been off by another week, it had been too cold. So, steamy is both figurative and literal when describing this shoot. By the time we left the sun was beating down on us and it was HOT!

sidenote: for those interested in Asbury Park’s history, check out this link.

They are adventurous, and were ready for anything - I wouldn’t have been surprised if they hopped in the water in January. Jennifer is a graphic artist - that made it super easy to convince her to sacrifice a few hours of quality sleep to get up for this sunrise session. I personally sacrificed the normal range of motion of my back for a few days falling on the jetty :-(.

Getting back to the couple, these two have a tremendously strong connection, I was excited to meet them and was met by equal enthusiasm, which was surprising at such an early hour :-) !!! On my end, it was definitely the 24oz. of coffee I downed on my way there.

I’ve rambled enough!!!

I said to Jennifer the day before the shoot, without risk, there is no reward. This sunrise was absolutely rewarding.

She’s hot and he’s cute!!! The other day I learned on Bridezilla that either the word marriage or wedding literally means to gamble (!) I think the casino photo is then so very appropriate. Marriage is the best chance I ever took with someone.

Ok, soooo here is my long overdue comment. First of all, Laura you are amazing! Second of all, we had the best time ever. With that said….all of the elements around us that day fit perfectly into place. The weather was great, the sun was about to rise, the company was fantastic, and the photographer was creative, proffessional, personable, relaxed, fun, friendly, and the list goes on and on. Once again, we had a great time, we love the pictures, and other than the “rump on the hump” it could not have been better. Thank you so very much!
