our farm:the upstairs bathroom

I’m going to jump upstairs to give a view of the upstairs bathroom. For those that have Full Access, you can refer to it’s location on the Second Level Floorplan.

Nothing has changed in this room since we purchased it.

psst…now, I’m going to pretend I don’t see those orbs outside the door in the last two photos. They didn’t show up in my previous captures either, but in an attempt to make my ghost story explicable by science or other explanation, I will not draw any more attention to it.

I love every single one of these doorknobs and they are present throughout the home.

Closer look at the wall. I’m thinking it is time to paint this room, although I’ve been thrilled with the lavender, surprisingly enough when people walk into the room they feel it “fits” (and that’s including the men), it just really needs to be freshened up. I had thought about Restoration Hardware’s Silver Sage since I have 2 gallons of it in the basement (I tried it for my dining room and it just didn’t fit) but I think I may be over that color.

Gotta love those old world details eh? This bathroom may have just sold the joint to us 😉 it’s fabulous! Honestly, love the bathroom but functionally I need a shower upstairs. I’m gonna head over to Clawfoot Supply one of these days and rake in a shower conversion kit. I need to be able to shower upstairs. Currently, our shower is downstairs and while I have no issue with the current shower I just really, really want to shower upstairs! Is that weird?

  • I think the silver sage paint would look great in there. If you have it already, might be worth a try. We have it in our kitchen and depending upon the time of day it goes from a blueish green to a grey so its very versatile.

Love the ceiling in there – its totally gorgeous. Not sure if you were planning on painting that too but that would look amazing in silver leaf.

On your clawfoot tub – I hate to tell you this but they are not very shower friendly. They are simply not meant to contain the kind of water splatter you get in a shower. So you have to have this huge shower curtain around the whole thing which totally spoils the look and then even after all that, water still gets on the floor. Of course people use them for showers all the time but there are annoying.ReplyCancel
