Alas, it is time for another infamous cell phone shot of the day!
Behold, my savior…the pot belly stove. You can see a much better photo of it in my kitchen blog post. But I was so overjoyed and elated when I fired up this bad boy this morning. It’s the only way I can walk into my kitchen without feeling I need to put on a Triple Fat Goose.
I will embarrassingly admit that I had one of these in H.S. – The Chicago Cubs no less, which brought me a TREMENDOUS amount of slack considering back when, the Cubs were not very good, oh…not to mention that I lived in NY and I appeared to be a traitor…well…we live and we learn, eh?). I will say that while not very fashionable – they were really, really warm! I didn’t really follow sports to begin with, and my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, is a YANKEES FAN.
The last two days in the Tri-State area have been absolutely freezing! I am not sure what they were thinking when they put the radiators in this home but placing them by drafty windows does NO GOOD for a kitchen that’s on a concrete slab!!
So, either we freeze or we heat up the kitchen using this, because the radiators, while they do warm up, do not keep our kitchen even remotely toasty. Today was the first time I personally fired it up, I figured it deserved it’s own cell shot of the day.

that is so neat! Sure it warms the kitchen up nice and cozy! Did you see next week will be 60! Break out the bikini!
Is that original to your house? Its a pretty coo. Never having lived in the proper surburban community, Im not familar with those. Back in the day, if the house was cold we would go the very dangerous route of turning the oven on and keeping the door open! The pot belly stove is a much more fashionable way to keep your toes warm if you ask me 🙂
