It is with great pride I present these images to you today as Shoot-Scoop / Laura Bruen Photography’s wedding debut! Being this is Shoot Scoop’s first post in the Wedding Category, it is going to be a doozie. Lots of images, but that’s what you’re here for after all, yes?
Karen booked me blind – without meeting me in person – after hearing about me and seeing my work on my website, a short conversation later and we were set! Extremely flattering for me! I knew after our first phone call that we connected. As the wedding approached, I took a ride in to meet Karen and scout her locations, and in the process, learned what a truly beautiful person she is both inside and out. Michael, whom I met on the wedding day, not surprisingly at all, is equally as amazing! I was elated to be photographing their big day. Their energy together and with their loved ones are such a beautiful thing to witness and great to be a part of.
By the end of my time with them (and their families), I felt as if I knew them all for years. My assistant Hope and I had a blast!
The ceremony was held at St. Vincent Ferrer, New York, New York
This is the rectory, a beautiful building. The scaffolding behind it covers the church exterior.

The church is undergoing a major exterior renovation. The only part of the church not covered by scaffolding is quite gorgeous!

Once inside – GASP!!! Beautiful interior.

Carlos Santana.
Oy Como Va (“Listen to how my rythm goes, good to get your grove on”) Definitely in these shoes.

Um, hello? Is that a gorgeous bride or what?

I love this moment-turned-portrait.

Relaxed / candid portraiture.

Completely relaxed and texting before the ceremony

Introducing Michael, The Groom (right), arriving, with the Best Man (left)

Michael’s church arrival hug, from Dad.

The rings, presented by the Best Man.

Michael had a priceless look on his face when he first saw Karen.

Who wouldn’t?

A favorite.

I love this image for so many reasons, mainly, however, that it depicts no matter what the environment is, the thought at this very moment is each other.

The reception was at Astra.

Paparazzi surrounded these two!

Said paparazzi.

Quite the “lookers” eh?

Love the silhuette

It started out nice and formal, but then, of course, the bride and groom got down.

Really down.

Dancing feet.

Dancing Bride & Groom

I honestly could go on and on with images from this wedding, but I’ll stop now – more of them will be placed on my website once I have a bit of time to update it!
Thank you, Karen & Michael for the opportunity to photograph this amazing day in your lives! I was truly honored to be a part of it.
