cell phone shot of the day

My grandfather passed away. It was a lovely service today at very beautiful Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Green-Wood Cemetary is a National Historic Landmark. I was taken by it’s beauty. My grandfather was very loved and leaves behind his lovely wife of 62 years, 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all privileged to know…

  • Im so sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family are okay and comforting each other.

Isn’t this a beautiful cemetary? Its right near my house so Im quite biased 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Oh, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Your grandfather sounds like a wonderful gentleman and I am sure he is in a wonderful place.

And yes, that cemetery is beautiful.ReplyCancel

  • Thank you so much for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated. I will hopefully get around to posting some old scanned images of my grandparents together that I’ve only recently seen – my grandmother’s wedding dress was stunning. I never saw a photograph of it until two days ago and now I’m anxious to put something together on the blog for them.

I have many fond memories of him that I will hold dear. One of my favorites was that he used to take myself and my cousins sailing in the Hamptons on the Shinnecock Bay on a small sunfish that used to whip us around.

    Thanks again!

  • I’m so sorry for your family’s loss, Laura. Given that your grandfather leaves behind a wife of 62 years and such a beautiful granddaughter, I’m sure he lived a full, rich life.ReplyCancel

I know, I know. Everyone wants something new, and I have TONS of new stuff – a bathroom reno and a bathroom paint job (yeah, that bathroom). However – work and life these last few weeks has been rather hectic. I’ll tell you, working and having the two children home during the summer – nuts!…
