fine art session: big dog ridgeback

I’m pretty amazed how people are finding me these days. Turns out my sweet ride shots tickled some bike fancy!

After I posted those shots, a few weeks later I received a call regarding shooting a Fine Art Session – a Big Dog Ridgeback Motorcycle which has won two “Best of Show” in bike shows that it participates in. It is a 2005 Big Dog (made in Wichita Kansas), model is Ridgeback (old school hardtail, no shocks), custom seat by Alligator Bob which was featured in Barnett’s motorcycle magazine.

Hugh, Emma & their son Alec drove from West Virginia for me to photograph the Big Dog – 4.5 hours each way! If nothing else I’ve learned, these people really know what they want and they go right after it! As per Hugh ” We are willing to travel great distances for the truly talented artists.”

I believe him…and you will too – especially once you see this bike. I was most impressed by the custom paint job, HR Giger inspired, done by Julio Sapere who is an incredible air brush artist from Maine. The artwork is sick!!! Honestly, the bike itself is just amazing – every inch of it.

If you can’t get enough – here’s a link to the slideshow!

Hugh, Emma & Alec, I look forward to seeing you again, and thank you so much for making the trip.

Sigh…I really need to update my website!

November 29, 2007 - 4:47 pm Hugh Hughes - Skilled artists with a true passion for their work like Laura are hard to find. When seeking out these artists a no compromise attitude is the only way to go. Laura clearly has passion for her craft to go along with a great amount of skill. Her ability to capture the artistry of the subject is quite evident. She was very easy and accommodating to work with, a real pleasure, and simply a great person to meet and know. Plus it was only a 9 hour round trip from our home. Well worth the drive and one we will absolutely do again. Thank you very much Hugh & Emma
