day at the zoo

Blog is in need of some lighter content. When I’m not working, I’m doing things with my children – and while blogging is definitely important, it’s been a very busy summer on all fronts. I’m a bit behind! I wanted to post a few images recent visit to the Staten Island Zoo with my girls!…

I have not been to the zoo in a MILLION years! The pics are awesome – made me feel like I was there taking the tour with you guys! I always wind up feeling bad for all the animals there when I go :(. That tarantula shot – YUCK!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • What stunning pictures! That peacock blue makes me want to paint my office. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Oh, yay!! My zoo. 🙂 I haven’t been for yeaaarrrsss but my mom still goes early in the a.m. on Groundhog Day to see if theirs sees his shadow.

Great photos! Now I want to go back to the zoo. Except “sad monkey” is making me a bit sad, too, and sometimes I get sad seeing all of those animals in cages. Though I think they’re safer there than, say, running from a hungry hyena.ReplyCancel

My grandfather passed away. It was a lovely service today at very beautiful Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Green-Wood Cemetary is a National Historic Landmark. I was taken by it’s beauty. My grandfather was very loved and leaves behind his lovely wife of 62 years, 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all privileged to know…

  • Im so sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family are okay and comforting each other.

Isn’t this a beautiful cemetary? Its right near my house so Im quite biased 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Oh, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Your grandfather sounds like a wonderful gentleman and I am sure he is in a wonderful place.

And yes, that cemetery is beautiful.ReplyCancel

  • Thank you so much for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated. I will hopefully get around to posting some old scanned images of my grandparents together that I’ve only recently seen – my grandmother’s wedding dress was stunning. I never saw a photograph of it until two days ago and now I’m anxious to put something together on the blog for them.

I have many fond memories of him that I will hold dear. One of my favorites was that he used to take myself and my cousins sailing in the Hamptons on the Shinnecock Bay on a small sunfish that used to whip us around.

    Thanks again!

  • I’m so sorry for your family’s loss, Laura. Given that your grandfather leaves behind a wife of 62 years and such a beautiful granddaughter, I’m sure he lived a full, rich life.ReplyCancel
